Scio-economic Aspect

There is a lack of agricultural fertile land in the Himalayan Region due to the cold and harsh climate. Grasslands are enough for cattle. Occasional snowfall disturbs vegetation to grow and fruits. The yaks and mules are reared here. Cattle rearing are the major occupation of the people in this region.
There are some small valleys and plains in the districts such as Humla, jumla, Mugu, Dolpa and Manag. Settlements are found along the river side and some areas near steet slopes. Human settlements appear even up to the area of 4572 metres. The people of Sherpa, Thakalis, Magars, Managis and Bhote communities are found here.
