Impact of Human Activites on Water

Water is renewable natural resources. In Nepal, water resources has been given top priority. Water is needed for various activities of human beings, like drinking, irrigtion, industry, navigation, electricity production, etc.
A rapid popualtion growth and poor land use intensify its effects. To get enough food and firewood, people strip the land grasslands and grow crops at higher, more erosion prone elevations. These activities cause land degration ehich favour the drought.
Origins of thfe sources of water are getting dry because of the destruction of vegetation. It has drinking water scarcity for human beings and other animals. The agricultural production is also decresing due to the water scarcity. The resulting water supply crisis is often viewed as a natural disaster. But it is actually a human caused disaster.
Water scarcity leads to the degradation of vegetation which in turn increases natural disasters like soil erosion, landslides and flood. it affects the human life.
